Cadaverific! (the story so far…)

The story begins with a bunch of guys hanging out at Ivan’s house (Doug and cousins Corey and J.P.). J.P. reveals his latest possession given to him from the local Army Surplus Store – a monkey paw. The guys question J.P.’s sense of judgment (or lack of) as he recalls how he was unexpectedly given the talisman. While they wait for their friend Chris, a few uninvited visitors show up on Ivan’s porch – Derek (a.k.a. “The Douche-bag”), Steve, and Chuck. Corey tries to end the confrontation between Ivan and Derek, but things get out of control quickly. The night ends with a pick-up crash, and Corey gets killed in a freak accident, resulting from that crash. A couple of months have passed since Corey’s funeral, and there’s still no word on the whereabouts of Derek and his buddies. In a nostalgic moment, J.P. wishes that Corey was still alive, not in the cemetery, in one piece, and without the broken neck…in the presence of the monkey paw. Shortly after, Corey’s corpse emerges from his grave.

The next day, in a different suburb, two girls named Rachel and Somalee are about to head out on a road trip to the metal festival Ozzfest. Before leaving Simon’s house, a friend of theirs, they all catch a news update on T.V. A cemetery and a nearby building were vandalized overnight, and a corpse is missing…
